The trail I run on is pretty nice. Spacious parking, gravel trail next to the paved one, decent views of the bay and city. There is another trail I like better, but always feel as if I'm risking the safety of my car when I try to find parking for.
So I'm running the other day and I notice there seems to be an increasing amount of doggy poo-poo left on the trail. There are poles with boxes full of poo bags about every 200 yards, so I'm not sure that someone can claim they didn't have anything to put the poo in for disposal. Clearly the dog owners feel it's okay to let their pets take a dump on the trail and just leave it. The numerous signs telling them to keep their pets on a leash and clean up after them seem to be merely a suggestion. I find it offensive to have to run around piles of poo because some dog owner is lazy or sqeemish about cleaning up after their pet. I hope they don't have children too. I am tempted to just stop and take a dump on the trail myself some time instead of using the facilities so that others don't have to step in my poo.
And while we're at it ...........
I am seriously going to put my own body at risk and "clothesline" the next stupid bicyclist who goes whooshing past me without calling out that they're about to pass. The trail has got to be at least 5 feet across and I run on the side of it. There's no reason to surprise me and to ride less than 6 inches from me going a zillion miles an hour. Ride in the damned middle of the trail and let me know you're coming or don't complain when I "react" to the surprise and you fall off your pretty very expensive bike in your multicolor spandex outfit.
Okay, I feel better now.
